Tucson Electric Power (TEP) is proposing construction of a single-circuit 500kV transmission line that is needed to meet growing customer demand in the Tucson metropolitan area. EPG has been retained to conduct environmental studies and permitting activities, along with the preparation of the CEC application. Environmental factors to be studied include existing and future land uses, as well as visual, cultural/archaeological, and biological resources. Additionally, EPG has put together a comprehensive public involvement program including public open houses, newsletters, a stakeholder group, and a telephone information line in order to give the public the opportunity to have a voice in the proceedings.
