Casa Grande Plaza is a 7-acre commercial development located on the Southwest corner of Florence Boulevard. and Interstate 10 in the City of Casa Grande, Arizona. The planting design was created to be congruent with the adjacent streetscape and residential development. Neighborhood connection points were designed with specialty pavement (e.g., colored concrete, concrete pavers), as well as crosswalk locations to create and define distinctive pedestrian pathways. The pedestrian pathways are shaded with three large box trees that are used to buffer the adjacent residential subdivision. The project incorporated native, low water-use plants and large box trees. The landscape architects designed and coordinated the design with the client, design team, and the City during the preliminary site plan approval process. Additionally, the design team prepared the schematic design development and construction documents and technical specifications for the project, as well as providing construction administration services.
