This unique project represents what is possible in the reuse of a landfill site when vision meets opportunity. The design team worked with the owner to use the constraints on the project associated with the landfill condition, rather than being limited by them, to provide non-traditional recreation uses in the design of this public facility. Specialized custom design features and themeing were incorporated to effectively arrange the facilities on top of the closed landfill site, returning the site back into the daily life of the community as a valuable amenity.
