Bob Pape was recently awarded a contract with Freeport McMoRan, Inc., to conduct a year-long arthropod study on property owned by Freeport in Bisbee, AZ.
Kristin Terpening was recently awarded a contract with SolarReserve to conduct scaly sandplant surveys and waters of the U.S. delineations on SolarReserve’s proposed solar site north of Quartzsite, AZ.
Mike McConnell – Wildlife Biologist joined EPG in April 2010 and has over three years of experience in natural resource consulting. He has experience in environmental compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and has conducted several wetland delineations and 404 Clean Water Act permitting. He has prepared storm water pollution prevention plans and monitored plan compliance and performed compliance monitoring for the Endangered Species Act. He has worked with numerous federal and state agencies including the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Environmental Protection Agency, BLM, Idaho State Fish and Game, and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. Mike has a bachelor of science degree in wildlife resources from the University of Idaho, College of Natural Resources.
Cheyenne
Nate Ferguson was recently appointed the Office Manager of the Cheyenne office. In addition to his office manager role, Mr. Ferguson is an environmental planner and project manager. Mr. Ferguson provides project coordination, recreation, visual resource, and land use inventory and analysis for Proponent’s Environmental Assessments (PEAs), National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) compliance including Environmental Assessments (EAs) and Environmental Impact Statements (EIS), municipal/county permitting projects, and constraint and opportunities/feasibility studies for linear facilities and site specific projects in California, Nevada, Idaho, Arizona, and Utah.
Salt Lake City
Naia George, Archaeologist and Field Director for the Salt Lake City cultural resource group received her Register of Professional Archaeologists (RPA) certificate in April 2010. Naia joined EPG in 2009.
Joe Donaldson nominated as Alumni of the Year at Utah State University Landscape Architecture and Environmental Planning Department. Joe Donaldson, Senior Landscape Architect for the Salt Lake City office, has received the “Distinguished Alumni of the Year Award” from the Landscape Architecture and Environmental Planning Department at Utah State University, Logan, Utah, April 10, 2009.

EPG is pleased to announce that
Scott Peters, RLA, ASLA, was recently appointed as Director of the Salt Lake City office. Mr. Peters is a Registered Landscape Architect with 18 years of experience and training in planning and design of parks, trails, and open spaces; flood control facilities; and residential, commercial, industrial, streetscape, and resort projects. In this new role, Mr. Peters will work closely with the Salt Lake City staff of over 30 professionals, including project managers, planners, landscape architects, GIS specialists, archaeologists, and biologists to meet and exceed our clients’ environmental planning and permitting needs. Mr. Peters will also continue to serve as the Director of EPG’s landscape architectural services.
Michael Doyle presents at EEI & NRECA 2008 Electric Utility Siting Workshop.
Michael Doyle, Director of Intermountain and Northern Plains Region, was invited by the Edison Electric Institute (EEI) and National Rural Electric Cooperative Association to give a presentation at the EEI Natural Resources and Siting Workshop in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The presentation was titled Transmission Corridors in the Intermountain West – A Five State Feasibility Study for Long-Range Planning. The siting workshop was hosted by Excel Energy and attended by utilities from throughout the country.

Dr. Steve Swanson, who successfully defended his doctoral dissertation and has been granted the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in Anthropology from the ASU College of Liberal Arts & Sciences, School of Human Evolution and Social Change. Steve joined EPG and works as a Project Manager in the Cultural Group in Phoenix.

Arizona Planning Association Board of Directors were recently revealed at the Yuma AzPA conference. Kevin Duncan, AICP is the Board’s newly appointed Treasurer. Congratulations Kevin!
Phoenix
Curt Davidson has become a Registered Landscape Architect in the state of Arizona. Curt completed the national Landscape Architecture Registration Examination in June 2009 and was approved for registration by the state board in January 2010. Curt joined EPG in July 2009.
