Environmental Inspection and Compliance Monitors

EPG is seeking senior and mid-level environmental inspection and compliance monitors.

Primary duties include project management; environmental compliance construction inspection including identification, documentation, and oversight of corrective actions for compliance issues; conducting environmental training; preparing Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans; identifying Best Management Practices; agency coordination; mitigation planning; and oversight of compliance monitors for high-voltage transmission lines, power distribution lines, and natural gas pipelines.

The ideal candidates will possess a bachelor’s or master’s degree in environmental science, wildlife biology, zoology, ecology, botany, natural resource management, range science, forestry, archaeology, anthropology, or closely related subject. Mid-level environmental compliance monitors will have 5+ years of experience in environmental compliance monitoring and environmental monitoring and controls training. Senior-level environmental compliance monitors will have 12+ years of experience in environmental compliance monitoring and environmental monitoring and controls training also having provided environmental inspection services on at least five large high-voltage transmission line, natural gas or petroleum pipeline, or liquefied natural gas facility construction projects. Candidates will also have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Salary is negotiable based on relevant experience.

Senior Environmental Planner

EPG is seeking a senior-level environmental planner.

Primary duties include assisting with and directing environmental planning and interdisciplinary NEPA compliance projects for the FERC.

The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor’s or master’s degree in landscape architecture (preferred), planning, geography, natural resource management, or related field. Past experience preparing NEPA documents (Environmental Assessments and Environmental Impact Statements) for the FERC is required. Previous experience managing large-scale projects and coordination with federal land management agencies in the western U.S. is preferred. Candidates will also have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Salary is negotiable based on relevant experience.

Seasonal Field Biologists

EPG is seeking qualified seasonal field biologists to support our Salt Lake City Biological Services Team beginning in March 2011.

Job duties will encompass fieldwork in the Great Basin and Rocky Mountain regions, including Threatened and Endangered and Sensitive Species (TES) surveys, habitat inventories, and wetland delineations.

Qualified candidates will possess, at a minimum, a bachelor’s or master’s degree in wildlife biology, zoology, ecology, botany, or range science; at least two seasons of field experience with TES detection surveys or other animal/plant field inventories, and data collection using GPS units, in the Great Basin and/or Rocky Mountain region; and have good teaming skills and a strong work ethic.

These are non-exempt temporary positions; hourly salary will be dependent on qualifications and experience. The work schedule will be 10 days on 4 days off. Lodging and per diem will be provided.
